Meet Brad

Brad is a longtime Baldwin County resident, who has spent the majority of his 43 years living in Spanish Fort. Brad has been married to his wife, Joanna for 17 years. They met working in the restaurant industry in college.  He is a proud girl dad to their two daughters, Anna Katherine (13) and Sadie (10).  You may have seen him volunteering in the community as a coach for baseball, soccer, and basketball over the last 20+ years.  The Bass family is actively involved in the PTA at Spanish Fort Elementary and are members of Spanish Fort United Methodist Church.

He has spent the last 17 years of his career in healthcare marketing in the neurology biotech space.  He has a long standing passion for serving the Multiple Sclerosis patient advocacy community, both locally and nationally.

In 2024, a new retail development was proposed behind his family’s and his neighbor’s homes.  This project would have put major retailers within 100 feet of many of their backyards.  It was at this time Brad and his neighbors rallied the community to oppose the development.  This included going door to door in Spanish Fort and meeting concerned neighbors, standing outside current retail centers to make the public aware, and meeting small business owners to discuss how their businesses could be affected. Their hard work led to the developer pulling his plans from the proposed area.  This ignited a real interest in public service for Brad.

In March of 2025, Brad was appointed to the Spanish Fort Cooperative Improvement District committee.  This committee oversees and makes decisions for improvements to both the Eastern Shore Center and Spanish Fort Town Center.  Brad hopes to bring much needed change to both of these areas of our beautiful city.

Brad has a vision to move Spanish Fort into the future as the best small town in South Alabama.
